Progressing the blueprint of healthcare’s new frontier

Early on Saturday, November 17, 2012, hundreds of The Texas Medical Center healthcare professionals came together  to collaborate on how to improve efficiency of case management and overcome the unpredictable challenges of everyday patient problems. Case Managers from each Medical Center hospital come with their stories of success and a thirst for knowledge to learn from others’ experiences on how they can do their jobs better. The top vendors of the industry fill the exhibit hall to demonstrate how they can help improve the care continuum for the case managers with their products and resources. Working in partnership, the conference prepares us all for the impending changes coming to our healthcare. One of the case manager attending said,” these meetings are extremely valuable because it provides a strategy on readmission policies that will affect us and gives tools new tools to use when we return to work. ACMA makes sure we don’t get left behind on best practices and encourages collaboration.”

This year’s event was the largest in the greater Houston chapter’s history. The new healthcare law will continue to provide many challenges and talking points for the case managers for years to come. The ACMA will make sure that changes in healthcare are given thorough consideration and has the best, brightest professionals dedicated to facing and overcoming new obstacles.
